Join Ancient Path Disciple-Making and Pastor Joel Zaborowski on a life-of-Christ study tour that chronologically walks the ancient disciple-making path of Christ. You will discover the where, why, and what Jesus did at specific times during His life and ministry that developed disciple-makers and built a disciple-making movement. There is disciple-making training at all 35 of the sites we visit (with required reading in preparation prior to arrival). This tour will equip you for disciple-making ministry. In addition to our time in Israel, we will also journey to Jordan to explore Mt. Nebo and Petra!

BEGINNING OF TOUR

Depart USA for Tel Aviv, Israel.

Day 2
Sunday, September 6

INTO THE LAND OF THE BIBLE

Arrive in Tel Aviv where you will be met at the airport for transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 3
Monday, September 7

BETHLEHEM/JORDAN RIVER/WADI QELT

Begin the day visiting the scale model of Jerusalem, a detailed reconstruction of the city as it appeared during the Second Temple period. Journey to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, and visit the Shepherd's Fields with views of the Fields of Boaz and Ruth. Continue to the Jordan River, where you'll have an opportunity for baptism in the waters where John baptized Jesus. End the day with a hike through Wadi Qelt, viewing the wilderness landscape and meditating on the ancient paths trodden by prophets and pilgrims. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. Lunch provided.

Day 4
Tuesday, September 8

JERUSALEM, THE HOLY CITY

Step into history as you enter the Old City of Jerusalem. Stroll along the narrow streets, experiencing the blend of several cultures revealed in the colorful bazaars, fragrant spices, and distinct neighborhoods as you make your way to the Temple Mount, where Solomon's Temple was built on Mount Moriah. Marvel at the Dome of the Rock enclosing the Rock of Sacrifice. Stand at the Western Wall where Jews have prayed to God for centuries. Visit the Pool of Bethesda. Enjoy lunch a choice of restaurants in the Jewish Quarter of old city. Continue to the City of David, where King David captured the fortress of a Canaanite tribe, the Jebusites, 1000 years before Christ. Complete the day with a journey below the City of David through Hezekiah's Tunnel, which connects the Gihon Spring with the Pool of Siloam. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Wednesday, September 9

CAESAREA/NAZARETH

Drive north along the Mediterranean coast to gorgeous Caesarea Maritima. Visit the Roman theater as well as Herod the Great’s seaside palace and its ruins. Explore the mosaic-rich city of Sepphoris, believed by some to be near Joseph and Mary’s hometown. Have lunch at Nazareth Village. Stand atop Mt. Precipice, where you will have a panoramic view of Nazareth, Cana, and the Jezreel Valley. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias. Lunch provided.

Thursday, September 10

CAPERNAUM

Visit Capernaum, the town where Jesus started His ministry and performed several miracles. Among the ruins, see the house of Peter and the location of the synagogue where Jesus taught. Continue to Tabgha, the site of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fish and the Primacy of Peter, where Jesus appeared to his disciples after the resurrection. Drive to the top of the Mount of Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee and the surrounding area. Journey to Bethsaida, the hometown of Peter, Andrew, and Philip, and one of the towns Jesus denounced for its lack of faith. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias. Lunch provided

Friday, September 11

GALILEE/MAGDALA

View the Jesus Boat, a 2,000-year-old fishing boat discovered along the Sea of Galilee. Enjoy a boat ride on the calm surface of the Sea of Galilee, reflecting on the miracles and teachings that took place here. Visit Kursi, the site where Jesus cast demons into a herd of pigs. Lunch at Hilik’s Junction. Conclude on to Magdala, the birthplace of Mary Magdalene, where ruins from a first-century synagogue and fishing village have been uncovered. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias. Lunch included.

Saturday, September 12

DAN/CAESAREA PHILIPPI

Travel north to Dan, home of ancient altars and lush trails along the headwaters of the Jordan River. Visit the sources of the Jordan River at Caesarea Philippi. Have lunch in the Golan Heights overlooking a scenic reservoir. Stand atop Mount Arbel, a dramatic overlook of the Galilee region offering views of Jesus’ primary ministry area. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias. Lunch provided.

Sunday, September 13

BEIT SHE'AN/MT. OLIVES

Visit Beit She’an, the leading city in the Decapolis and the place where the Philistines hung the bodies of King Saul and his sons on the city walls. Explore and have lunch in Jericho, viewing Elisha’s Spring and the surrounding archaeological ruins. Visit the Mount of Olives. View the Kidron Valley and take in the spectacular views of the Temple Mount. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. Lunch provided.

Monday, September 14

GETHSEMANE/OLD CITY

Begin at the Upper Room, where Jesus shared the Last Supper with His disciples. Enjoy teaching on the rooftop terrace. Hike to the Garden of Gethsemane, stopping to reflect on Christ’s agony and submission. Spend quiet time for prayer and reflection in a private garden at Gethsemane. Descend to Caiaphas’ House, the high priest’s home where Jesus was tried. Lunch in the Old City. Visit the Antonia Fortress, also known as the site of Jesus’ scourging. Conclude the day at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the traditional site of Jesus’ crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 11
Tuesday, September 15

GARDEN TOMB/DEAD SEA

Begin the morning with a poignant visit to the Garden Tomb, where a communion service will be held. Travel to Mount Scopus for a breathtaking view over Jerusalem and the Judean Desert. Stand on the Southern Steps, where rabbis once taught their disciples and where Jesus likely walked when He visited the Temple. Enjoy lunch in the Old City or at Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Spend the afternoon floating in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea.

Wednesday, September 16

MASADA

Travel to Masada, the desert fortress built by Herod the Great and used by Jewish zealots as a stronghold during the revolt. Cross into Jordan and journey to Mount Nebo, the memorial to Moses, and the presumed site of the prophet’s death and burial. Lunch at Mount Nebo. Dinner and overnight in Wadi Musa.

PETRA

Begin your tour in the breath-taking city of Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, known as "the Rose Red City, half as old as time." Journey through the once-hidden passage to the Treasury. Stroll the two-thousand-year-old streets while marveling at the outstanding ruins that come to life as the sunlight changes the colors with your every step. See the awe-inspiring theatre and Palace Tomb. For the adventurous, climb to the High Place, with its breathtaking view of Petra and Mount Hor, one of the earliest mentioned mountains in scripture. Dinner and overnight in Wadi Musa. Lunch provided.

Tour information

GROUND/TRANSFERS: The group will be met on arrival by a Signature Tours representative and transferred to the hotel/airport. Land Only participants not traveling with the group are responsible for scheduling ground transfers.

HOTELS: Superior first-class hotels throughout. Priced based on two people per room with a private bath and shower.

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: A limited number of single rooms are available at additional supplement prices. Signature Tours and/or the tour leader will make every attempt to pair single participants requesting a roommate. However, the single supplement fee will be charged for each person occupying a single room, whether by choice or circumstance.

MEALS: Breakfast and dinner are provided daily. Lunch is provided on days as noted in the itinerary.

SIGHTSEEING: Entrance fees to all places listed in the itinerary are included, as well as an expert English-speaking guide.

LUGGAGE: Space is limited on the tour buses. Participants are allowed one suitcase weighing 50lbs or less and will be transported in storage under the bus. Participants are allowed one backpack/daypack or personal bag to carry on the bus during the tour. These requirements will meet most airline carrier restrictions. See the carrier website for airline-specific baggage restrictions and requirements. Medical devices are not included in these restrictions.

TIPS, SERVICE CHARGES, AND TAXES: Tips, service charges, and taxes ARE INCLUDED in the selling price. Taxes, as imposed by national and/or local governments, that are not included at the time of booking are the responsibility of the participant.

NOT INCLUDED: Excess baggage fees, passport fees, food or drink items not listed on the regular table menu for included meals, and items of a personal nature such as room service, laundry, etc. Any service not indicated in the itinerary and/or the above list of included features.

PASSPORTS: Passports must be valid with an expiration date of at least six months beyond the return home date of the tour. Participants with non-US passports are responsible for country-specific entry requirements.

AIR: The Air Included option covers round-trip, economy-class airfare from the departure city listed in the itinerary. All group seating is assigned by the airline and cannot be changed by Signature Tours. Seat changes can only be made during check-in at the airport. Upgrades such as Comfort, Premium, Business, or First Class are not available with the Air Included option. Participants who wish to upgrade or purchase a specific seat should choose the Land Only option when registering. Frequent flyer, TSA Precheck, and Global Entry numbers can only be added at check-in.

LAND ONLY: Participants who wish to arrange their own air should choose the Land Only option. Participants arranging their own air should notify Signature Tours at least 6 months prior to the departure date. Land Only Passengers arriving with or before the group are welcome to join the group bus at no additional charge. For those not traveling with the group, Signature Tours can provide contact information to arrange a private transfer.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: This tour requires a substantial amount of walking. Many of the sites are not accessible by wheelchair, and the uneven terrain is not feasible for rollators. Signature Tours reserves the right to refuse individuals who may require special attention beyond what the tour guide and tour host can provide.

A preexisting medical condition waiver is available if purchased within 21 days of registration.

CANCELLATION POLICY: The $500 per person deposit is nonrefundable. Other payments exceeding the $500 per person are refundable in full up to 180 days prior to departure. After this date, refunds for unused accommodations and services will be limited to the amount received from and/or credited by all carriers, sightseeing operators, and hotels. All funds, including the deposit, are non-transferable.
