Arrive in Cairo, where you will be met by your tour representative and transferred to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Thursday, September 30
The Holy Family and Christian Cairo
Begin in Old Cairo with the Church of Sts. Sergius and Bacchus and the crypt traditionally associated with the Holy Family, the Hanging Church, Greek Orthodox St. George, and the Coptic Museum. Continue into Manshiyat Naser - “Garbage City” - and the extraordinary Cave Church of St. Simon the Tanner carved into Mokattam Mountain. Visit the Coptic Catholic Cathedral, then conclude the evening at Our Lady of Zeitoun, site of the famous Marian apparitions beginning in 1968. Dinner and overnight in Cairo.
Day 4
Friday, October 1
The Holy Family and Ancient Egypt
Visit Matariya and the Virgin Mary’s Tree, associated with the Flight into Egypt. Continue to the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, and the Grand Egyptian Museum. This day places Christian Egypt within the larger biblical story: the land of Pharaoh eventually became the land that sheltered Christ. Dinner and overnight in Cairo.

Saturday, October 2
The Desert Fathers
Travel to Wadi al-Natrun, ancient Scetis, one of the birthplaces of Christian monasticism. Visit monasteries associated with St. Macarius the Great, St. Bishoy, St. Moses the Black, and the Syriac monastic tradition. Continue to Alexandria and stay overnight. Dinner and overnight in Alexandria.
Day 6
Sunday, October 3
Alexandria: Christianity’s Intellectual Capital
Visit the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, the Monastery of St. Savvas, and St. Mark’s Cathedral. The day becomes a living introduction to St. Mark, St. Athanasius, St. Cyril, Clement of Alexandria, and St. Catherine. Return toward Cairo and visit the Basilica of St. Thérèse, one of Egypt’s important Latin Catholic shrines. Dinner and overnight in Cairo.
Day 7
Monday, October 4
Anthony and Paul
Travel into Egypt’s Eastern Desert to the ancient monasteries of St. Anthony the Great and St. Paul the First Hermit. Surrounded by the stark beauty of the desert, take time to meditate on the lives of these great Desert Fathers and their devotion to prayer, solitude, and seeking God. This time offers a meaningful opportunity for prayer and reflection. After our visit, return to Cairo for dinner and overnight.
Day 8
Tuesday, October 5
Cairo to Sharm el-Sheikh
Fly directly from Cairo to Sharm el-Sheikh. Spend several hours on the Red Sea for lunch, swimming, snorkeling, and rest. In the afternoon, travel by private coach into the Sinai mountains. Overnight near St. Catherine’s Monastery, with an evening reflection on Exodus, Moses, and the Burning Bush.
Day 9
Wednesday, October 6
Mount Sinai and St. Catherine’s
Rise before dawn to ascend Mount Sinai by the longer Camel Path and experience sunrise from this sacred mountain. After descending, visit St. Catherine’s Monastery, including the Basilica of the Transfiguration, the Burning Bush, and its collection of ancient icons and manuscripts. Reflect on the rich spiritual heritage of the monastery and the lives of St. Catherine and St. John Climacus, whose witness continues to inspire pilgrims today. After our visit, return to Sharm el-Sheikh for the evening and overnight.
Day 10
Thursday, October 7
The Red Sea
Enjoy a lighter final day in Sharm el-Sheikh, with time to appreciate the beauty and peaceful setting of the Red Sea. Guests may choose to swim, snorkel, or enjoy a relaxing boat experience, while others can simply rest and spend time in fellowship. Gather for prayer and a final conference reflecting on the journey we have shared—from the Holy Family and Alexandria to the Desert Fathers, St. Anthony, and the sacred mountains of Sinai. Conclude our pilgrimage with a final dinner together, giving thanks for the experiences, friendships, and spiritual memories of our time in Egypt.

Transfer to the SSH airport for your return flight home with your luggage packed with keepsakes and your heart full of memories from your exploration of Egypt.

Tour information
GROUND/TRANSFERS: The group will be met on arrival by a Signature Tours representative and transferred to the hotel/airport. Land Only travelers not traveling with the group are responsible for scheduling ground transfers.
HOTELS: Superior first-class hotels throughout. Priced based on two people per room with a private bath and shower.
SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: A limited number of single rooms are available at additional supplement prices. Signature Tours and/or the tour leader will make every attempt to pair single travelers requesting a roommate. However, the single supplement fee will be charged for each person occupying a single room, whether by choice or circumstance.
MEALS: Breakfast provided daily. Lunch and dinner provided on days as noted in the itinerary.
SIGHTSEEING: Entrance fees to all places listed in the itinerary are included, as well as an expert English-speaking guide.
LUGGAGE: Space is limited on the tour buses. Travelers are allowed one suitcase weighing 50lbs or less and will be transported in storage under the bus. Travelers are allowed one backpack/daypack or personal bag to carry on the bus during the tour. These requirements will meet most airline carrier restrictions. See the carrier website for airline-specific baggage restrictions and requirements. Medical devices are not included in these restrictions.
TIPS, SERVICE CHARGES, AND TAXES: Tips, service charges, and taxes ARE INCLUDED in the selling price. Taxes or fees imposed by national and/or local governments that are not included at the time of publication are the traveler’s responsibility.
NOT INCLUDED: Country-specific visas or ETAs, excess baggage fees, passport fees, food or drink items not listed on the regular table menu for included meals, and items of a personal nature such as room service, laundry, etc. Any service not indicated in the itinerary and/or the list of included features.
PASSPORTS: Passports must be valid with an expiration date of at least six months (185 days) beyond the start date of your tour. Travelers with non-US passports are responsible for country-specific entry requirements.
AIR: The Air Included option covers round-trip, economy-class airfare from the departure city listed in the itinerary. All group seating is assigned by the airline and cannot be changed by Signature Tours. Seat changes can only be made during check-in at the airport. Upgrades such as Comfort, Premium, Business, or First Class are not available with the Air Included option. Travelers who wish to upgrade or purchase a specific seat should choose the Land Only option when registering. Frequent flyer, TSA Precheck, and Global Entry numbers can only be added at check-in.
LAND ONLY: Travelers who wish to arrange their own air should choose the Land Only option. Travelers arranging their own air should notify Signature Tours at least 6 months prior to the departure date. Land Only Passengers arriving with or before the group are welcome to join the transfer bus at no additional charge.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: This tour requires a substantial amount of walking. Many of the sites are not accessible by wheelchair, and the uneven terrain is not feasible for rollators or scooters. Signature Tours reserves the right to refuse individuals who may require special attention beyond what the tour guide and tour host can provide.

A preexisting medical condition waiver is available if purchased within 21 days of registration.
CANCELLATION POLICY: The $500 per person deposit is nonrefundable. Other payments exceeding the $500 per person are refundable in full up to 180 days prior to departure. After this date, refunds for unused accommodations and services will be limited to the amount received from and/or credited by all carriers, sightseeing operators, and hotels. All funds, including the deposit, are non-transferable.

EGYPT VISA: A Single-Entry Visa for Egypt is required and must be purchased separately. This visa can only be purchased within 6 days of your arrival in Egypt. Signature Tours will email instructions when it is time to purchase your visa. Do not purchase before this time, or it will expire.
